GOD OUR FATHER, we are gathered here to say farewell to one whom we have loved, someone who has had a very special place in our hearts and in our lives. We thank you Lord for the times you have given us to share together your gift of love. We pray for your pardon and forgiveness for anything we might have done to hurt each other. Help us, Lord, to live peacefully with the imperfections of our human relationships knowing that you accept us as we are. Comfort us through the memories our loved one leaves with us. May they give us courage in our journey into the future. Grant your servant a place of peace in your kingdom, where there is no more suffering, or crying out, or pain. Bless the one we loved in life and keep her in your care. We ask this in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord, we beseech Thee, in the tenderness of Thy great mercy, to have pity upon the soul of Thy handmaid Erlinda, cleanse her from all defilements which have stained this mortal body, and give her inheritance in everlasting salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, who with the Father and Holy Spirit who lives and reigns this world without end. Amen.
Grant, O Lord, we beseech Thee, this mercy unto Thy servant deceased, that, having in desire kept Thy will, she may not suffer in requital of her deeds: and as a true Faith joined her unto the company of Thy faithful here below, so may Thy tender mercy give her place above, among the Angel choirs. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Leader: Lord our God, receive our supplications, prayers and mortifications and sighs in suffrage for the holy souls for whom we make this novena; and we pray that by the motherly love bestowed on you by your most holy Mother, when she followed you on the way of sorrow up to Mount Calvary, and grant what we ask of you in this novena for your greater honour and glory.

Leader: Merciful God, we beseech you, by the pain which your Holy Mother saw you suffer and agonise on the cross, that the holy souls in purgatory be freed from those pains; especially for the soul of Erlinda, for whom we are praying and offering in This novena. Bring those who are submerged in their sins to a true knowledge of their guilt and grant what we ask of you in this novena, for your greater honour and glory.

Leader: Almighty Father, to whom nobody asks without the hope of receiving, by the intercession of St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary, enable the suffering souls in purgatory to be able to leave that place, especially for the soul of Erlinda. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

Leader: Gracious God, through whose mercy the saints rest in glory, we beg you to set free those blessed souls in purgatory, especially for the soul of Erlinda, for whom we are praying in this novena. May you radiate your compassion and love to them so they may enter into your Kingdom. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

Leader: Souvereign Lord, in whom it is proper to be merciful, through the intercession of St. Michael, the archangel, and by the sorrow of your Blessed Mother who suffered when the soldier pierced your side with a lance, have mercy on the soul of our sister Erlinda for whom we are offering this novena and bring him/her to your eternal rest in heaven, for the better glory and honour of your name.

Leader: Lord of mercy, hear our prayer. May our sister Erlinda whom you called your son/daughter on earth, enter into the Kingdom of peace and light, where your saints live in glory. We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

Leader: Creator and Redeemer of all mankind, through the infinite merits of passion, death and resurrection, we beg you to shower the immense treasures of your clemency on those blessed souls, especially for the eternal repose of the soul of our sister Erlinda. Bring those who are in sin to a true knowledge and repentance and grant what we ask for in this novena, through Christ, our Lord.

Leader: Lord God, you are the glory of the believers and the life of the just. Your Son redeemed us by dying and rising to life again. Our sister Erlinda, was faithful and believed in resurrection. Give to him/her the joys and the blessings of the life to come. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

ALL: O Almighty God, Judge of the living and the dead, so fit and prepare us, we beseech Thee, by Thy grace, for that last account which we must one day give; that, when the time of our appointed change shall come, we may look up to Thee with joy and comfort, and may at last be received, together with her whom You have now taken from us, and with all that are near and dear to us, into that place of rest and peace where You, Yourself wipe away all tears from all eyes and where all our troubles and sorrows shall have an end, through the merits and for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Blessed Saviour and Redeemer.
